Mark C. Layton , chairman, president and CEO of PFSweb Inc. (Nasdaq: PFSW), a leading outsourcing solutions provider.  Mr. Layton is the former CEO of Daisytek International Inc. (Nasdaq: DZTK), the world's largest distributor of computer consumables. He draws from a wealth of hands-on executive experience to provide readers and audiences with valuable insight. 

When radical changes in supply chain and profitability models rocked the office products industry in the early 90s and threatened the very existence of Daisytek, Layton took decisive action by consolidating multiple distribution centers into one  single, purpose-built, highly automated "super-hub" facility adjacent to Federal Express' primary hub in Memphis, Tennessee. This bold move reduced costs, increased efficiency, and propelled Daisytek into the lead market position and became a cornerstone distribution philosophy due to its enormous success.

A proven leader, Mr. Layton is a recognized authority and highly regarded public speaker on topics including e-commerce, Web-enabled call centers, technology trends, the utilization of technology in business, supply chain management, leadership, financial management and Christian principles in business.

In 1999 Mr. Layton authored and published the successful book  .coms or .bombs . . . Strategies for Profit in e-Business, which correctly predicted the huge fall of internet stocks and the need to build your e-business based on a sustainable profit model.  Mr. Layton has also co-authored with David Cottrell, president of Cornerstone Leadership, the "Listen up..." leadership series of management hand books.

Mr. Layton is a 1981 graduate of Northern Arizona University, holding bachelor of science degrees in business and management information systems. Before joining Daisytek in 1988 as director, and VP of operations, he spent eight years working for Andersen Consulting (Accenture) as a wholesale and retail distribution management consultant. He was appointed executive vice president of Daisytek in 1990, president and COO in 1993, CEO in 1997 and chairman in 1999. In 1999 Mr. Layton became chairman, president and CEO of PFSweb, Inc., a spin-off from the parent Daisytek. Mr. Layton, after completing the successful separation of PFSweb from Daisytek, left the Daisytek board in October 2000.

 Mr. Layton also serves as an Associate Editor for the Center for Cycle Time Research at the University of Memphis and serves on the Dean's Advisory Council at Northern Arizona University College of Business Administration.

Mr. Layton is married, has four children and is an avid sportsman.
